Thomas Rischke, Founder
Thomas Rischke is the founder of Orange Ridge Capital and has twenty years of investment banking experience. Starting in 1996 as a sales-trader at ING Financial Markets in Amsterdam he was sent to set up, build, and manage the treasury-sales operation for ING Financial Markets in Frankfurt in 1998. From 2001 onwards, Thomas has held positions as a director in trading & sales at Lehman Brothers, Dresdner Bank, and UBS servicing European Institutional Investors.
Before founding Orange Ridge Capital, he was responsible for Institutional Sales Timberland at Darion Capital Management, the distributor of the forestry manager BAUM Management.
Thomas has lived and worked in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London on several occasions.
He attended the German School in The Hague and studied Finance at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Native languages are German, Dutch, and English. Thomas also has a good comprehension of Portuguese.
Thomas Boova, Partner
Thomas Boova is a Partner at Orange Ridge Capital located in the New York area in the United States. Thomas held senior positions at the First Boston Corporation (Credit Suisse), Deutsche Bank, and PaineWebber Inc. (UBS) and most recently was a Co-founder and Managing Partner of IFG Asset Management.
Thomas began his career at The First Boston Corporation where he was the Global Head of Short-Term Trading and Sales. After 14 years at CS First Boston, he moved to Deutsche Bank Securities Inc USA, where he was a member of the Fixed Income Management, Finance, and Credit Committees. Thomas moved to PaineWebber Inc., (UBS) where he held several senior positions including Head of PaineWebber International, and was a member of the PaineWebber Inc. Operating Committee. After PaineWebber's merger with UBS, Thomas moved to HSBC as Head of Business Development for the Americas before returning to UBS in Private Wealth Management. Thomas has over 30 years of experience in international capital markets, risk management, and private real assets including impact and sustainable investments.
Fernando Rivas, Senior Adviser
Fernando Rivas is a Senior Adviser at Orange Ridge Capital located in Spain, where he has been involved in developing real estate, forestry, and agribusiness projects. Fernando specializes in business development and private equity. He has spent the last 25 years working and living in emerging markets (Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, & KSA). He has a proven track record of sourcing and negotiating transactions in the energy and agriculture fields.
Before that, he worked as Director of Business Development for the Family Office of Abdullah Al Rajhi, the shareholder of the largest bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Based in Dubai and Riyadh I have been structuring transactions in a wide range of industries in the region, such as energy, real estate, health, catering, hospitality, retail, telecom, and automotive.
Previously, he spent 10 years as Managing Director & Fund Manager with a U.S. Private Equity (FE Clean Energy Group), living in Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina, where he focused on the development of renewable energy projects and financing structuring in Latam. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Scott Travis, Head of Research
Scott Travis is Head of Research at Orange Ridge Capital located in Colorada in the United States. Scott is a researcher and consultant with expertise in economic advisory - covering topics such as climate risk, geopolitical landscape mapping, circular economics, growth strategy, and due diligence.
An M.A. in Quantitative International Political Economy (International Economics) Scott wrote his thesis on the discovery of oil and gas reserves off Guyana, and how the country might navigate its energy windfall. Scott's academic work focused on resource modelling, including econometrics and advanced statistical analysis. Before his graduate studies, Scott began his career at the Congressional Leadership Fund, a political independent expenditure fund associated with US House leadership. Since leaving Washington, Scott has been employed by a series of geopolitical risk and management consulting firms (most notably Veracity Worldwide), where he has led diverse client engagements. Scott has mostly recently held significant positions of increasing responsibility across leading consulting firms heading their Sustainability and ESG research efforts (Aperio Intelligence and TRC Advisory) and serving Private Equity and Venture Capital clients.
Robin Castelli, Head of Transition Finance Investment
Robin Castelli is Head of Transition Finance Investment at Orange Ridge Capital located in New York in the United States. Robin is the Author of “Quantitative Methods for ESG Finance” by Wiley (2022) and has led the Climate Transition Risk Model Development team at Citi for the last year and half, covering all Climate Scenario Analysis exercises in 2023 (including the FRB CSA), focusing on the entire Wholesale Credit Portfolio as well as the Commercial Real Estate Portfolio for Climate Risk, totaling over $730Billion, across 140+ countries and more than 20,000 companies. Prior to this position, Robin was the Business Unit Manager for Enterprise Risk Management, the area that covers, amongst other topics, Climate Risk, and the Chief Strategy Officer for Quantitative Risk and Stress Testing, the division of Risk tasked with developing all the quantitative models used for Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, Credit and Obligor Risk Analytics, Risk Capital Analytics, and Stress Testing. Robin is also co-founder and former Executive VP for Business Development at Macro USA, in the field of Unmanned Ground Vehicles, and prior to that, co-founder, CEO and president of Macroswiss SA. Robin holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology, summa cum laude, from Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, with an evolutionary biology thesis on “Chromosomal rearrangements as speciation mechanisms”.
Robin is a frequent lecturer on Climate and Transition finance at prestigious universities and conferences around the world such as Columbia, Bocconi, and the Stevens Institute of Technology, amongst others. He is a native speaker in three languages (Italian, English, Spanish) and conversational in French.
